The actress Sibel Kekilli has now published for PeTA the campaign theme "Not every life has a happy ending", in which she was photographed by the Berlin photographer surrounded by several dogs. Sibel supports PeTA's campaign to implement birth control for stray dogs in Turkey.

Turkish animal lovers called the international animal rights organisation PeTA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) for help when the situation of stray dogs in Turkey got worse than ever. Dogs are caught in large numbers and sometimes even buried alive in refuse depots. The most recent example: Animal welfare activists found some 100 dogs buried 3 m deep in the refuse depot in Kutludügün (Ankara), some 30 pups sat orphaned on their mothers' "graves".
